āPrep time: 30 Minutes
Bake time: 45 Minutes
Ingredients
3 medium honeycrisp apples (peeled and thinly sliced)
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
3 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 tablespoon cornstarch
1-2 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Pinch of salt
Crumble Topping
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup cold butter (cubed)
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup rolled oats
Pinch of salt
Directions:
Peel and thinly slice the apples.
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, blueberries, lemon juice, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until everything is evenly coated.
Pour the fruit mixture into a 9x9 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, flour, salt, and rolled oats. Use a spatula to gently stir together. Add in the cold cubed butter and use your hands to combine everything together until a crumble topping forms.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the fruit filling.
Preheat the oven to 350F and bake for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbling.
Prepare the custard using Bird's Custard Powder, following the package instructions.
Remove from the oven and let it rest at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.
Slice and serve warm with the warm custard poured on top. Enjoy!
