Serves: 6-8
Prep time: 10 Minutes
Bake time: 1 hour and 20 Minutes
Ingredients
1-8oz package cream cheese, at room temperature
1 can sweetened condensed milk (300 ml)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 can evaporated milk (354ml)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 large eggs, at room temperature
1 caramelized sugar recipe
Directions:
Make the homemade caramelized sugar.
In a blender, combine the cream cheese, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract. Blend for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
Lightly grease a 10 cup Bundt cake pan with non stick spray.
Slowly pour the caramelized sugar around the base of the pan. Use a spatula to gently drag the caramelized sugar up the middle and the sides to coat.
Slowly pour the mixture onto the back of a spoon all around the pan to not disturb the caramelized sugar.
Wrap the pan tightly with aluminum foil. Place it inside a large roasting pan and carefully pour about 1 inch of boiling water into the roasting pan (around the flan pan).
Optional: Add 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar into the water to prevent discoloration of the pans.
Preheat the oven to 350F and bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes. After 30 minutes of baking, remove the aluminum. Allow the pan to cool at room temperature for 2 hours before placing in the refrigerator to chill overnight.
Carefully run a butter knife around the edges to loosen the flan from the pan. Invert the flan onto a serving platter, letting the caramel sauce to flow over the top.
Slice, serve and enjoy!
