Serves: 8-10

Ingredients


  • 8 cups thinly sliced apples (I used granny smith, golden delicious & red delicious)

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 3-1/2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon of apple pie spice

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 package of golden cake mix or yellow cake mix

  • 1 cup quick oats

  • 1/2 cup softened cubed butter at room temperature

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/3 cup milk


Directions:

  1. Prepare a baking dish with non stick spray.

  2. Thinly slice the apples and evenly spread them on the prepared baking dish.

  3. In a bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, apple pie spice, flour and salt. Pour over the sliced apples to evenly coat.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the oats, cake mix, baking powder, baking soda, brown sugar. Then add in the butter and use your hands to blend it all together.

  5. With your hands, add in the blended mixture over the apples spreading evenly.

  6. Pour the milk over the mixture.

  7. Place the baking dish on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.

  8. Preheat the oven to 350F and bake for 45 minutes. Then, place on low broil for 2 minutes to toast the top.

  9. Let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes to cool before serving.

  10. Serve with a scoop of ice cream and enjoy!
