Serves: 6
Prep time: 20 Minutes
Bake time: 45 Minutes
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter (I used salted)
1-1/4 cups sugar
3 tablespoons of hot water
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Topping:
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 325F.
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add the butter and sugar. Whisk until melted together, then remove from heat.
Pour the chocolate chips into the saucepan. Mix until it is fully combined with the butter and sugar
In a bowl, combine the chocolate mixture, vanilla extract, boiling water, and eggs. Whisk until smooth.
Whisk in the flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
Grease a 9x13 inch pan with nonstick spray and lined with parchment paper.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle chopped pecans and mini semi sweet chocolate chips all over the top.
Bake for 45 Minutes, or until a toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean. Let the brownies sit in the pan for 15 minutes before slicing.
Slice into even squares and enjoy!
