Ingredients
1lb strawberries or 2-1/2 cups chopped strawberries
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt juice of half of a lemon or 2-3 teaspoons
Directions:
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, add in the strawberries, sugar and salt. Continuously stir for about 7 minutes to allow it to come to a boil. Then stir for another 6 minutes for the strawberries to break down.
Remove the saucepan from the stovetop. Add in the vanilla extract and juice of a lemon. Mix together until combined.
Allow the sauce to sit at room temperature for 5-7 minutes. The longer it sits at room temperature the thicker the sauce will get. Enjoy!
